Tanana An-Kavia Sy Havanana, Ka Izay Didiana Maharary.
This proverb means that just as an injury to the left hand or the right hand causes the same pain, misfortunes and sorrows, wherever they occur, equally affect parents. In other words, the sorrows felt by one family member are also felt by the other members. A similar expression in English is ‘When one family member suffers, the whole family suffers’.
