Tsy Tia Maro Toa Mpamosavy

This proverb means that a person who dislikes the company of others or who is antagonistic towards many individuals is akin to being a witch. In Malagasy culture, witches are often seen in a negative light and are subjects of suspicion. By saying that not liking many people is like being a witch, the proverb warns against social isolation and antipathy. An equivalent English proverb might be ‘He who sows discord will reap the whirlwind.’
