Toy Ny Jaka : Tsy Hanin-Kahavoky, Fa Nofon-Kena Mitam-Pihavanana.
This Malagasy proverb highlights the significance of small acts of kindness in human relationships. The ‘jaka’ was a piece of meat shared among friends or family members during the traditional ‘Fandroana’ festival. While it might not be enough to satisfy one’s hunger, the act of sharing fosters bonds of friendship and kinship. An equivalent proverb in English could be ‘Little gifts maintain friendship.’
