Ny Ahiahy Tsy Ihavanana.

This proverb means that distrust and doubt prevent the development of true friendship. When people are always suspicious and do not trust each other, it becomes difficult for them to establish a genuine friendly relationship. In other words, friendship requires a foundation of mutual trust; without it, any attempt to form a friendship is doomed to fail. An equivalent proverb in English would be ‘Distrust prevents friendship.’
