Manao Ondry Ny Harena, Ka Misorona Ondry Boka.
This proverb criticizes those who try to get rid of something worthless by presenting it as a sacrifice or offering. It is an hypocritical way of pretending to be generous or self-sacrificing while actually disposing of something unwanted. An equivalent expression in English would be ‘Giving a white elephant in gift,’ which means giving a burdensome gift. It talks about falseness and hypocrisy. Here, the leprous sheep represents something useless or harmful that is being given away under the guise of a good deed.
