Izay Sahy Maty Mifono Lambamena.
This proverb highlights the importance of bravery. In Malagasy culture, a red silk shroud is a symbol of honor and distinction. Only those who take risks and have the courage to face challenges receive this recognition. In other words, the greatest achievements are accomplished by those who do not fear failure or death. An equivalent proverb in English would be: ‘Nothing ventured, nothing gained.’
