Aza Manao Vintana Alohotsy.
This expression refers to the instability associated with the lunar month of Alohotsy, which is the twelfth month in the Malagasy calendar. It advises us to avoid inconsistency and to remain firm in our decisions and actions. Being inconstant can lead to uncertainty and confusion, both for oneself and others. Therefore, it is preferable to demonstrate determination and stability, which are valued qualities in all cultures. The equivalent in English could be: « Don’t change your mind as often as your clothes ».
