Andevo Tokana Amin'andriana: Raha Tsy Matin'iraka, Maty Voky; Raha Tsy Maty Voky, Matin'iraka.

This proverb describes a situation where a person finds themselves constantly in extreme circumstances. Either this person is under significant pressure from work or responsibilities, or they are benefiting from resources that are overly generous. This contrast highlights the masters’ ability to alternate between excessive generosity and harsh demands. In other words, the lone slave in a noble’s house always finds themselves in extreme and excessive situations, illustrating the unpredictability of the masters. An equivalent proverb in English might be: ‘Out of the frying pan into the fire’.
