This proverb suggests that some relationships are so strong and inseparable that only death can break them. Bran, or rice husks, are essential food for pigs, much like there are people or elements in our lives that are vital to us. Here, friendship or love between two individuals is represented as being as inseparable as pigs are from their food. In English, an equivalent proverb would be ‘Till death do us part.’
